Faculty Senior Secondary School has a full programme of extra curricular activities and we hope that pupils will take full part in these. Competitions are conducted under House system. All students are
divided into four houses, namely –

JYOTI PRASAD ( YELLOW ) HOUSE
BISHNU RAVA ( RED ) HOUSE
SANKARDEV ( GREEN ) HOUSE
AZAN FAKIR ( BLUE ) HOUSE

The house system develops a keen sense of competition and loyalty which are considered as requisite qualities for full development of one’s personality.The school expects full cooperation from gaurdians/ parents in successfully conducting co-curricular activities of the school. We also expect the guardians to be present on such occasions when invited.

The House activities include quiz, debate, extempore, dance, singing, art , wall magazine, games & sports. The school offers a number of Awards during its annual school activities, including the following :

JYOTI PRASAD AGARWALA ( 1903 – 1951 )
Rupkonwar Jyoti Prasad Agarwala was a great dramatist, lyricist and singer. Sonit Kunwari, Karengar
Ligiri are two of his great dramas. He has also written Ramayana, in accordance to the taste and rythm of the children. The first Assamese film -Joymoti, is his creation. His melodious songs have made him immortal in the minds of his admirers.
BISHNU RABHA ( 1909 – 1969 )
Bishnu Prasad Rabha who is better known ad ‘Kala Guru’ was a poet, dramatist, lyricist, singer, literarur ,dancer and an expert actor. He was also a revolutionary who was put behind bars due to his love for his motherland. He had a deep association with many theatrical groups. Besides ‘Rabha Sangeet’ his unique creation, he had written valuable books like the Histories of the rabhas, The Dimasas and The Bodos.
SANKARDEV (1449 – 1569)
Sankardev was born in the year 1449 at Bordua in Nagaon. The ‘Satras” founded by him have helped to popularise and spread Vaishnavism. In order to spread and popularise the vaishnavite movements he scripted “Borgeet” and dramas, “Kirton” the religious text, and introduced instruments like Khol and Taal and these are unique gifts from the towering social reformer and saint to the Assamese society.
AZAN FAKIR
Shah Milan came to be better known as Azan Fakir in Assam because he motivated people to give Aazan while reading the Namaz. He is the first Muslim preacher who had come to Assam in the early part of the
17th Century from Persia. He learnt the Assamese language and wrote “Jikir” and “Marsia” geet ( songs ) to preach his faith. He had indeed enriched the culture and heritage of this land.
Late Simon Kachari Memorial Awards held on the occasion of Childrens Day, every year to commemorate the memory of the Late Simon Kachari, an ex-Facultian, who gave his life in call of duty flying Mig-29.
A ‘Best House Trophy’ on the basis of overall highest aggregate in academics, discipline, co-curricular activities and general behaviour throughout the session, generates a high level of competition in all spheres. It is compulsory for every student to take part in these activities organised in the form of class/house activities. Their participation in different co-curricular activities is seriously considered in case of their
promotion to the next class.
